How we met
Wes and I met in June 2011. I was home from school for the summer and he
had just gotten home from his LDS mission. Wes's best friend had
married one of my friends, so he decided to set
us up . We first met at one of Tom's
basketball games, but we only said a few words to each other. After the
game, Wes messaged me on Facebook and we started talking. He claims that
I made the first move because I offered my number to him, but really I
just didn't like Facebook messaging :)
About a week later, Wes asked me out on a date to go get ice cream and
go to his soccer game. The next
night, Wes came over to my house and we have pretty much been
inseparable ever since.
Engagement
We both said that we wanted to date a long time before getting married,
but we all know how that works out. After dating for a couple months, we
started talking about getting married. We knew I was moving back down
to Orem at the end of August, so that was an issue. After I moved, I
ended up coming back home on the weekends so we could be together and he
would drive down a couple of weeknights. We both knew that that
wouldn't last very long.
On Christmas, I opened my presents to find a ring! It was the perfect
proposal and private just like I wanted it (I get embarrassed in big
groups of people and told him that I would kill him if he proposed to me
in a public place).
Wedding
Wes and I got married on March 21, 2012. It was a perfect day. We were
married in the Salt Lake City temple with all of our family and friends
present. We had a reception that night at the Salt Lake Hardware
building. Our photographer was Amanda Castleberry Photography.
