Summer

Summer has always been one of my favorite times of year. I love the heat and how light it is at night. We're able to spend lots of time outdoors and with our families. This year hasn't been any different!

One of our favorite things this year has been taking Ellie to Tanner Park in Salt Lake City. It's an off leash dog park with lots of creek access and great trails. We enjoy being outside and letting Ellie go crazy for a couple of hours.

One of our favorite summer traditions is the Oakley Rodeo. For as long as I can remember, my dad has covered the rodeo. He's a member of the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team, so we're lucky enough to get tickets every year. It's always fun to dress up and watch the Cowboys. We went up 3 nights this year.

Last weekend we were able to go up to Park City. We ate great food and just enjoyed a weekend away! We love the atmosphere up there and realized that we need to get up there more often.

The rest of the time, we've just been loving all of the extra time we've been able to spend with our families. We're lucky enough to have two great ones!

Cruise 2014

We recently got back from a week long cruise. There's nothing worse than coming back to reality after relaxing in the Caribbean for a week! We went with our friends the Hansen's and had an absolute blast.

We were on the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas. Our first stop was Cozumel, Mexico. We took a cab to Club Cozumel Caribe and stayed on their property the whole day. It was a beautiful beach with great chairs and a pool. They also gave us some snorkeling gear, so we made sure to take advantage of that. It was some of the best snorkeling I've ever seen.

Our next stop was Grand Cayman. Everyone told us that we absolutely had to do Stingray City, so we made our plans around that. We booked our tour through Moby Dick Tours and they were great! They are way cheaper than booking through the cruise line and we had a really small group, so we were able to interact with the guides more. They took us out to a coral reef for snorkeling, then we headed over to Stingray City. It was amazing! We were a little nervous at first, but the stingrays were super friendly (almost a little too friendly!). The guides taught us how to hold them and feed them. Supposedly, kissing a stingray gives you 7 years of good luck, so we all made sure to give them a kiss!

Our final stop was Falmouth, Jamaica. I had heard that Falmouth wasn't a very nice area so it was safer to book excursions through the cruise line. We ended up deciding on the Green Grotto Caves + Dunns River Falls excursion. It was a blast! Dunns River Falls ended up being one of our favorites. It is a giant waterfall that is over 900 feet long. Basically you start on a beach down at the bottom and climb all the way up. It was absolutely beautiful and the guides made it really fun.

We also had a couple days at sea to just hang out on the boat. Our boat was super nice and had all sorts of fun things to do! They had a mini golf course, rock climbing wall, basketball court, and a flowrider. We attempted the Flowrider and had lots of fun watching other people.

We had so much fun with the Hansen's and can't wait to go again!
